Critical Links Introduces Pay-as-you-go Pricing

March 2, 2009

Program significantly reduces initial investment to acquire a sophisticated phone system (plus a lot more) and save Small Businesses thousands of dollars annually

FAIRFIELD, NJ, March 2nd, 2009Critical Links, a global provider of unified voice, data and IT solutions for SMBs, announced today that it has introduced a new ‘Pay-as-you-go’ pricing option for purchase of its edgeBOX offerings. This is first of several initiatives that Critical Links is undertaking to mitigate the financial constraints imposed by the economic downturn; other initiatives will be announced shortly.

This new pricing option will be effective immediately and comprises the following key elements:

  • Low-investment, deferred payment: An edgeBOX can now be purchased for a very low initial investment and the balance paid in small installments over a period of 12/24 months. The program will also bundle in support services along with the appliance.
  • Trade-in credit: An edgeBOX model purchased under this option can be traded in for a credit (up to 50% of its original price) towards a higher-end edgeBOX appliance and support.
  • Insurance: A second edgeBOX, to serve as a back-up, can be purchased for a very steep discount; further the pay-as-you-go pricing option is also available for its purchase.

By reducing the up-front investment, this pricing option makes the edgeBOX even more attractive. For example, an edgeBOX with support services for a year can now be purchased with an initial investment of as little as $ 1825. The edgeBOX platform along with the generous trade-in credit allows customers to scale easily and also much less expensively.

Being able to purchase a second edgeBOX to serve as a stand-by for a fraction of the price will now offer businesses a peace-of-mind, and at a very low cost. Given that the edgeBOX typically consolidates all the voice and data service capabilities for a business on a single platform, a back-up platform – especially at a fraction of the usual cost, simply makes for a good business decision.

In the current economic environment, small and medium businesses are understandably trying to conserve capital and investing only after clear cost savings and other measurable benefits are established. Critical Links aims to precisely address these concerns by reducing the initial investment, offering a deferred payment plan and conclusively showing the savings using the edgeBOX”, said Alex Sarin, vice president of product management at Critical Links. “The Pay-as-you-go option creates a compelling incentive”.

The Critical Links’ edgeBOX™, a multi-service business gateway appliance, provides a full fledged VOIP/ IP-PBX and a host of data and IT services such as routing, security, NAC, web/email/print server, backup storage etc in a single device, while dramatically reducing complexity and deployment costs. It replaces between four to eight specialized products with a single integrated platform that is simple to install and configure, easy to maintain and upgrade and can be managed remotely. It is available on a range of scalable platforms that optimally support from fewer than 10 users up to 300 users.

The edgeBOX has been widely deployed around the world to offer a sophisticated platform of cutting edge capabilities to Small and medium businesses. Recently, it was deployed by ONI Communications, a fast moving Service Provider in Europe, to deliver a host of voice and data services as well as at over a thousand schools in one of the largest school modernization programs.

More details on the edgeBOX and the ‘Pay-as-you-go’ program are available by contacting us at sales@critical-links.com or your local Critical Links’ representative.
